June 8th, 2008 · No Comments

Please note that not everyone works at the same place so this makes giving instructions on work complicated. Instructions will be simplified here to accommodate common scenarios.

How to Go to Work
Move toward to your work location, if you work at the same place every day, it should not be a problem finding your work location. If you can not find your workplace, refer to the employee handbook or ask your supervisor for details.

How to Eat Lunch

If you do not know where the break room is, see your supervisor. Once there put your food down on the nearest table and pull out the lunch items. Depending on your lunch, you may need to microwave a few things. If this is the case read the instructions on how to microwave your food. Heating times will vary.

There will likely be other people in the break room sitting at various tables. You do not have to talk to them or sit by them. If you do choose to talk to them, they may stop eating and look at you. Remember it is never a good idea to talk with food in your mouth. It is impolite and can sometimes be hazardous. People choke and can die from this, so be extra careful to finish your food when you engage in conversation.

How to Get a Drink of Water

First, find out if you have a drinking fountain or water cooler in your office. If you do not know this, ask your supervisor. Once you have Located a drinking fountain or Water Cooler, approach it.

In this tutorial we will focus on a water cooler. Sometimes there are cups at the water cooler and sometimes there are not. If there are not you will need a container to hold your water. I can’t really help you here unless you already know where to secure a proper container for your water.

Assuming you have a container, hold it under the water spout and press the blue button. Water should start coming out and filling up your container. If this is the case, you’re in luck… Congratulate yourself.

Now, do not let the water get so high that it overflows the edge of your container. If you do this, you’ve got what’s called a spill. Spills are a problem in most offices and should be avoided.

Now that you’ve got your water container full, drink up, enjoy and repeat. Soon we’ll discuss in depth, tips on how to go to the bathroom.
